I thought I’d update everyone on the Kaholo kit. It is now on the market with a few modifications from the prototype shown above. The shape and basic design is the same, but the performance is improved. The nose panels have been raised for better lift, the sheer/rails don’t reverse so quickly which adds waterline width and the tail rocker was slightly so it doesn’t ride out of the water and lift the skegs. The result is a noticeably friendlier/more stable board that maintains its beautiful glide and speed. Id say this one is a real winner and ranks amongst the nicest of boards I have paddled. Check it out if you have a chance. I will begin building mine shortly!

Cool…dry storage. They should replace the cover with a compass then. Make it even cooler.

I’d love to build this board. Something to definitely consider. I’ll have to talk them into a bigger kit though. I’d like 30″ and by the time I’d have this ready I’ll be 235. Gotta love the workout, that’s my 25 year old fighting weight…:) except I’ll be 50 in Jan. So I’d still need more volume.

That’s actually a hatch for dry storage of your keys, wallet, etc. I paddled this board last week and the glide is fantastic. It’s much lighter than I expected and not bad on the eyes. Can’t wait to see how the 16 turns out. There’s a lot of Gray Whale Trading wood paddleboards around here and they are beautiful.
