Tim - I asked Todd to answer your question because they make the 2 pc paddles. He said to put a little bit of packing tape around the male end of the paddle shaft and that should get rid of the looseness. It won’t weaken the paddle.

I have a two piece paddle that is starting to develop some play at the joint. Questions, What’s the best way to get rid of the looseness? And, how much will this weaken the paddle shaft? Thanks, Tim

I’m interested in the question on both bent shaft and angled blades. I haven’t paddled my latest on yet but it’s a straight shaft and straight blade so I should know this weekend. At least how it works for me. Here’s the latest paddle underway. I’m still not convinced the mechanics of the stroke require any angles.

Jon, the paddle angle is usually between 8 and 14 degrees on most of the paddles out there.

hey just gettin into this sport was curios what pros and cons there are with the elbowed or bent paddles, they better for surfing only also was curios what the angle on those paddles was going to try and make some of my own thank you for your time
