Hey Evan, you know I'm only giving you a ribbing! Great writeup on the Takayama and I always look forward to the reviews.

In regards to a next board, I'm really torn between going longer for cruising/distance paddling, or shorter for more surfing performance.

Well, if I consider a Joe Blair, I'm glad I now have the "secret code"!

I think the retail is around $1600 like the other production boards give or take some store discounts, etc.

KaiDogg - I have 6 or so currently. Some I just try and some I trade w/ others, etc. My Joe Blair is the only one on the island currently. You should call Joe bc he may be able to customize a better one for you. As long as you tell him the secret code is "Tarter Sauce" then you'll get a pretty sweet deal. I know he's gotten a bunch of orders and some from Hawaii for sub 9'ers.

I'm actually in Asia for work currently so I haven't talked to him in a while. I have some posts scheduled so at least there will be content while I'm gone.
