S.I.C. 9’4″ SUP Stand Up Paddle Surfboard

Here is Mark Raaphorst from Sandwich Island Composites (SIC) with a new prototype 9’4″ SUP stand up paddle surfboard. The board is expected to be available by the end of summer, 2012. This is a short board type SUP designed to be fast. Being that it’s a SIC, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Here are some pictures of my friend Kekoa Mau surfing at Maili Point. 10-25 foot NW swell hit Oahu and left 6-15 foot waves at Maili that day. This was the first day he tested the Tropical Blends Surf 8’1″ surfboard.

Stand Up Paddle for Kids

I made a paddle for my 5 yr old son by taking a 2 pc C4 Waterman carbon paddle and cutting down the shaft. This also allows me to change out the top part of the shaft so my wife can also use it if she ever decides she will come out with me.
