They’re Here - C4 Waterman 9′ Bat Tail stand up paddle surf board by Boardworks
I was at the C4 HQ last week and looked over and saw the new C4 production 9′ bat tail stand up paddle surf board sitting on a table outside as I was about to leave. I just had to show this on standuppaddlesurf.net so I took out my digital camera and shot some pictures and a short video of the board.
“We strive for a design that is shorter and doesn’t paddle with a lot of yaw. This board and the 9’6” paddle surprisingly fast for their size. And they don’t yaw and broach side to side when you paddle them as much as some other short boards… This is a fun board. Called C4 they say the board is not available for purchase right now. Bummer, would have bought one this week to surf country.

I could not catch a wave that day to save my life. For some reason I couldn’t judge where the wave was breaking.

Don’t worry, it happens sometimes. Courts can be tricky wave, but once you get it dialed in, you will learn to love it. The key is to actual take off late and at an angle. If you start paddling too early on a straight line you cannot keep track of where the swell is moving behind you. It is better you face it and position yourself to spin at the last minute and turn into the face (which isn’t easy either).
