The 2016 Quiksilver JM Survivor Race
The 2016 Quiksilver Survivor Race was a huge success – with very tough competition. It was a one day event and had the survivor format – which is the hardest race format for short sprints. The first heat started with 44 men and the bottom 10 were eliminated. This was the worst round for me and I got stuck in the back of the pack. I finished in 11th and made it through to the next round, but this year each round you get points for what place you get and at the end you want the smallest number of points.

Connor wins his 7th Straight Victory
at the Maui-2-Molokai 28-Mile Crossing
Connor’s victory extends the longest winning streak in the men’s sport. Not only has Connor never lost this race, but nobody else has ever won it. Connor took out the inaugural event as a scrawny teenager at 15 years old back in 2010, and he has triumphed every year since.

Here’s a video that I took from the finish line of the 2016 Blue Planet/Wet Feet World Paddleboard Association (WPA) Race. I was dilly-dallying on my camera when the first place guys came in so I wasn’t able to film them. But I was able to interview the SUP division race winner Jimmy Fitt and will post that in a separate video so watch out for it.

The 2015 Pacific Paddle Games was one of the biggest, craziest and the most stacked field of athletes I have ever competed against.
The first day kicked off with the first round of the technical race, which was four rounds of 25 people. And the top athletes made it straight to the semi-final round. The losers went into a repercharge round – and the winners of the repercharge would go to the semi-finals.
