With the world’s best about to embark on the European Trilogy that starts next weekend in Oleron France (with stops in the Basque Country of Spain and Germany), we are proud to announce the US Trilogy that will pick up at the end of August and hit 3 major markets in the USA.
The Trilogy will consist of the following flagship stops:
- The Chicago World Paddle Challenge that will kick off the Trilogy at the heart of Chicago from the 23rd – 25th August
- The America’s Cup of Stand Up Paddling will run from the 31st August to the 2nd September (Labor Day weekend), and be an integral part of the America’s Cup Sailing event hosted by San Francisco City this summer
- The Huntington Beach Pro Grand Slam will run from the 17th – 22nd September and like Brazil, will feature both World Tour Surf and World Series Race events, making for a dramatic week of action
In addition to providing vital ranking points for the 2013 Stand up World Series Title Race, the Trilogy Series will also boast the biggest prize-purse yet for any SUP event or series and crown a Series Champion for both men and women.
The winning athletes will then awarded stays for the World Championship Finals at Turtle Bay Resort for the climactic culmination of the Stand Up World Series in October.

After laying the foundations in 2012, the Chicago World Paddle Challenge will be back with a mega event for 2013, featuring the elite level World Series Racing, but also amateur and entry level fleets at the heart of one of the world’s most bustling Cities.
From the 23rd evening until the 25th August, North Avenue Beach will be the place to be to watch the world’s best battle it out for the Trilogy Crown and strengthen their World Title campaigns. It will also be a melting pot of Stand up Paddle activity, as races for all levels, ages and board styles will make up an all inclusive event at Chicago’s premier beach location.
So make sure to save the date and stay tuned to www.watermanleague.com for detailed schedule and entry information as well as build up to the 2013 USA Trilogy Series featuring this epic opening event in Chicago.

From the 31st August to the 2nd September, the world’s best will battle it out in front of the grand stand of the America’s Cup Sailing Championships for the ‘America’s Cup’ of Stand Up Paddling. Paddle power will replace the giant sail power and boards, the multi hull design of the America’s Cup vessels in the creation of a dynamic platform for the world’s best and an incredible showcase for the sport in front of an unprecedentedly large audience.
This new event replaces the originally planned Maui Summer event as an official stop on the 2013 Stand Up World Series.

Also taking place on Sunday morning will be a high profile ‘Big Move’ Surf event, providing entertainment for all the spectators on site and online, but also another incentive for the World’s best to battle it out on the water.
