USA Trilogy announced: Chicago, San Francisco & HB

With the world’s best about to embark on the European Trilogy that starts next weekend in Oleron France (with stops in the Basque Country of Spain and Germany), we are proud to announce the US Trilogy that will pick up at the end of August and hit 3 major markets in the USA.

The Trilogy will consist of the following flagship stops:

  1. The Chicago World Paddle Challenge that will kick off the Trilogy at the heart of Chicago from the 23rd – 25th August
  2. The America’s Cup of Stand Up Paddling will run from the 31st August to the 2nd September (Labor Day weekend), and be an integral part of the America’s Cup Sailing event hosted by San Francisco City this summer
  3. The Huntington Beach Pro Grand Slam will run from the 17th – 22nd September and like Brazil, will feature both World Tour Surf and World Series Race events, making for a dramatic week of action

In addition to providing vital ranking points for the 2013 Stand up World Series Title Race, the Trilogy Series will also boast the biggest prize-purse yet for any SUP event or series and crown a Series Champion for both men and women.

The winning athletes will then awarded stays for the World Championship Finals at Turtle Bay Resort for the climactic culmination of the Stand Up World Series in October.

Stand Up World Series is integrated into America’s Cup

Stop 2 of the US Trilogy will head to San Francisco in Northern California to be a part of one of Sailings most prestigious and most publicized events: the America’s Cup.

From the 31st August to the 2nd September, the world’s best will battle it out in front of the grand stand of the America’s Cup Sailing Championships for the ‘America’s Cup’ of Stand Up Paddling. Paddle power will replace the giant sail power and boards, the multi hull design of the America’s Cup vessels in the creation of a dynamic platform for the world’s best and an incredible showcase for the sport in front of an unprecedentedly large audience.
