Abu Dhabi All Stars Grand Slam to step it up a level in 2014

The Abu Dhabi All Stars made history in 2014 with a mindblowing event in the wave pool at Wadi Adventure, and then in the city itself with the exhibition racing event on inflatables. However for 2014, the All Stars event has been taken to a whole new level, with a full status World Tour Surfing event back at Wadi Aventure Park (11th – 15th April) and a full status Racing event at the famous Yas Marina and Abu Dhabi Sailing and Yacht Club (16th – 19th April).

In line with the All Stars concept, the stakes have been raised from the Prize-money level of $45,000 for the event, with 2 first class plane tickets to any Etihad destination worldwide (outside of the US) to be awarded to the Overall All Star Champions across Surfing and Racing (a value of over US$20,000).

The Surfing event has now added a qualifier round to the 32 man men’s and 16 woman events due to exceptionally high demand. Meanwhile, the Racing is open to all, with something for everyone, from a 3km entry level paddle and 6km open paddle to the 10 – 12km World Series Race in the long distance. There is then the climax from a spectator’s standpoint of the now famous World Series elimination format sprint racing.
