Action Live from World Series in Hamburg this weekend

Make sure to tune in live and for daily highlights this weekend to www.watermanleague.com for the Camp David World Cup of Stand Up Paddling, Stop 5 on the 2013 Stand Up World Series. Watch as Kai Lenny (Naish) and Annabel Anderson (Starboard) headline an all star line up for this final stop on the European Trilogy of events in Hamburg, Germany.

The action will start this Saturday morning at 10am Central European time with the World Series Sprint Racing for women. Make sure to catch the Morning Show live from Hamburg on Friday afternoon, as we present the event, meet the athletes and get a glimpse of World Class Stand Up paddling in the City.

Pacifico presents Chicago World Series: 23rd – 25th August

Pacifico Beer presents the first stop on the US Trilogy and the 6th stop on the 2013 Stand Up World Series on the weekend of the 24th – 25th August, taking place at North Avenue Beach in Chicago.

With a full schedule of action for the weekend, the event will feature the World Series Long distance and Sprint Racing formats for the elite paddlers, but also open divisions for participants of all levels, inclusive of 14′ and 12′6 classes together with an entry level race to broaden the access of the event for all. There will also be a Celebrity Relay showdown featuring local sports celebrities, as the busting City of Chicago provides the perfect backdrop to this dramatic stop on the 2013 Stand Up World Series, brought to you in association with Starboard.

The social schedule will feature a Movie Premiere of the Starboard Movie on Friday night and welcome drink by Pacifico Beer at the W Hotel Lakeshore in Chicago, followed by a beach party and live music presented by Pacifico at Castaways on Saturday night. The Final element with be a Rooftop closing party on the 6th floor of the W Hotel Lakeshore, with Pacifico on top, awards and music to close the event in style. Also watch out for the FIAT dance party in association with Grind Media, taking place at the World Series event site at North Avenue Beach throughout the weekend – this stop on the World Series certainly has something for absolutely everyone.

Chicago World Series to host the very best in the world

Headlining the event with be current World Series ratings leader, Connor Baxter (Starboard) from Maui who will be lining up on the startline alongside fellow islander and arch rival Kai Lenny (Naish), as they will embark on another historic battle of epic proportions here in Chicago.

However, the talent runs deep, with current World Number 3 Zane Schweitzer Starboard looking to consolidate on his great performance in Spain back in June, the Aussies and Fanatic team mates Jake Jenson and Paul Jackson looking to make their presence felt, and Slater Trout (2012 World Number 3) and Ryan Helm (3rd place finisher in 2012 here in Chicago) embarking on their first stop on the Series for 2013.

Meanwhile in the women’s division, it will once again be ratings leader Annabel Anderson who will lead an all star cast that will also include some of Europe’s up and coming talent, and US talents such as Morgan Hoesterrey and many more.

America’s Cup of Stand Up Paddling: Labor Day weekend

The World Series will then head on to another high profile location, as the Stand Up World Series is integrated into the America’ Cup in San Francisco on Labor Day weekend. With a long distance race taking place on the Saturday, an Open Race for all (12′6 and 14′ divisions) and youth event, followed by a Movie Screening and Welcome Party on the Saturday night, the first day of action in San Francisco will be intense. The long distance race will run from Baker Beach, under the Golden Gate Bridge and into Marina Green, the heart of the racing for the America’s Cup with stadium seating for 5,000+

Sunday will be the big show for the World Series, as the iconic Sprint format will take place right in front of the viewing stadium and event village at Marina Green, while the action will be relayed across screens all over the America’s Cup Park, as well as broadcast live to the world at www.watermanleague.com. A fitting spectacle for the World Series and a challenging and high profile race course for its athletes, that will lead to a high profile awards ceremony and party in AC Park.

Monday will provide another celebrity format, as Team relays will be the order of the day for a fun and action packed close to the 7th stop on the 2013 Stand Up World Series.
