SURF AND TURF 5K RACE CHALLENGES ALL IN APRIL

MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII (MCB HAWAII), KANEOHE, HI – March 23, 2012 - Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Semper Fit and Single Marine & Sailor Program (SM&SP) welcomes participants to the 9th Annual Surf & Turf 5K on Saturday, April 14, starting at 6:30 a.m. The Surf & Turf is one of the most scenic race routes offered at MCB Hawaii taking runners from the Officer’s Club, through the Klipper Golf Course, and along North Beach. This race is open to the public.

The Surf and Turf 5K is part of the Commanding Officer’s Fitness Series, a selection of races created for military members and the public promoting fitness and wellness through numerous and breathtaking running routes across Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

Awards will be given to the top three overall finishers and the top finisher in each age group category for both men and women.

Register online by visiting the Semper Fit page on the MCCS website at www.mccshawaii.com/cgfit.shtml through Wednesday, April 11 until 4:30 p.m. Cost is $25 per individual and increases to $30 if registering after Friday, April 6, 4:30 p.m. Participants can also register by visiting the Semper Fit Center up until race day. Packet pick-up day is Friday, April 13 between 9:00
a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Kaneohe Bay Semper Fit Center.
