Casper Steinfath charges to victory in the Sprint Races on Day 1 of the World Sup Challenge in Rome

The viking from Denmark stormed to victory in the sprint races here at Severa Beach in Rome, Italy, on the final stop of the European Cup presented by Starboard. After some great racing in the heats, Casper Steinfath (Naish) dominated the final. Charging from the horn the Dane got off to a great start and hit the first buoy out in front of the chasing pack and didn’t look back. Catching some nice little bumps on the runs into the beach Steinfath took the win comfortably.

Connor Baxter (Starboard) put on an impressive performance today to take the win in the long distance race for the final day of action here at the Camp David World Cup of SUP, Stop 3 of the 2014 Stand Up World Series. This combined with his second place in the World Series Sprints, also secured him the overall win for this all important stop of the World Series, as we now reach the year midpoint.

The Camp David World Cup of SUP to kick off next weekend in Fehmarn, Germany

Fehmarn, Germany will be the new host location of this year’s Camp David World Cup of SUP, stop number 3 of the 2014 Stand Up World Series and Stop 4 of the European Cup. This $25,000 World Series event will kick off next Friday 18th July, as the World’s best descend upon Northern Germany for an event to remember, as the World Series picks back up where it left off in Abu Dhabi back in April.

Wednesday: Downwinder Meeting at 4:30 PM, Kahala Beach Park

We are expecting another great trade wind day tomorrow.

We will meet at 4:30 pm at Kahala. Everyone is welcome to join, we may do a shorter course for the slower/entry level paddlers starting at Toes (the beach park at the bottom of Hawaii Loa ridge). The fast paddlers will do the longer run from Portlock to Kahala. We will not have a time trial training group in Hawaii Kai this Wednesday.
