This is Gayle’s first time ever to do a Hawaii-Kai run and she already paddles like a pro as you’ll see in the video. Gayle also did a great job as the camera operator on a number of the other pocket coaching videos. Gayle is a Hawaii expatriate that lives in the mainland so she […]
This is a session that I went to a while back with Kekoa at Puena Point. It’s supposed to be huge, about 12’-18’ Hawaiian scale but then it turned out to be 3’-5’ Hawaiian scale. I guess it picked up that afternoon but at that time that we were there, the conditions were really nice: […]
I was cleaning out my storage area and decided to shoot this video to show the differences between a couple Bark Race SUP’s and SIC’s. The boards are very different. Since I already did individual posts on these boards, this video will just show them side by side.
These next couple of videos from Todd Bradley’s ‘pocket coaching’ series are with Randy Lui-Kwan. Randy just got into SUP paddling in 2009 but don’t let that fool you because I’ve watched him improve super fast and now is averaging very good times for downwinders. I met Randy when Harris Chang sold him a SUP […]
Here’s Todd Bradley’s ‘pocket coaching’ session with Ray Shiraishi. Ray is riding an early model custom SIC F-14 and I think he weighs 150 lbs or so. Ray is already a pretty fast racer who did the Molokai Channel race tandem last year. This video is a good example how someone with some experience and […]
Here is session 2 of Todd Bradley’s ‘pocket coaching’ series. During the first session, I found out it was difficult to get good footage while paddling at the same time. This time Todd brought his jet ski with him and one of us would ride with him to take the video while he coaches.
I found this funny video browsing online at http://twbiz.transworld.net/2009/10/09/cross-country-snowboarding-sport-of-the-future/. I tried snowboarding over the holidays and sucked. Not sure if a paddle would have helped…probably not. (click thumbnail to launch video)
This is another interesting product I saw at the 2009 Battle of the Paddle, the StickyWheel Board Transportation Device. Here’s a description from their website:
Mark Raaphorst sent us these photos and a video of the 2009 SUP Fryslan 11-City Tour held last September in the Netherlands.
Here’s some clips of my friend Kekoa surfing Diamond Head. It’s from a while back but I figured I’d just post it anyway. (click thumbnail to launch video)
I know this is a promotional video but it does a great job at showing how excited people get when they first SUP and how accessible this sport is becoming. This is one of the best promotional videos I’ve seen so far. This was shot in Seattle, Washington. (click thumbnail to launch video)
Kainoa Beaupre sent over this video of him on his little mini SUP. At 200 lbs, I’d probably sink it to the ocean floor but Kainoa’s about the size of my 6 year old so it floats him just fine…just kidding. Check out the video. (click thumbnail to launch video)
