Here’s a video from a recent SUP surfing session where I got to try out Blue Planet’s 9’2″ x 30″ Ninja Chief SUP surfboard along with the Kai Zen stand up paddle with the 98″ blade.
I got a chance to visit the Blue Planet surf shop on Ward Avenue in Honolulu Hawaii yesterday after their renovation. I was really impressed. Now that they have the big parking lot, the retail floor space was doubled and there’s a lot more inventory in there now.

I recently did a demo of the Blue Planet 9’0″ x 29″ “Rockn’ Roller” stand up paddle surfboard. The board is able to float a rider up to 220 lbs but the caveat is that if you’re over 200 lbs your balance needs to be really good, especially if your conditions are choppy.
I recently had the chance to try out the Starboard 9’0″ x 33″ Hero stand up paddle surfboard and it’s my favorite Starboard SUP board for the south shore so in the past few years. I like this board better than the 9’5″ wide point. I haven’t tried the smaller wide point yet.
The Blue Planet 9’6″ x 30″ “Nalu” stand up paddle surfboard is my favorite Blue Planet board I’ve tried so far. The board reminds me of a classic longboard shape and rides very predictably.
